Deer friends,
You are receiving this one time message because you have an account in The Endless Forest. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause. But don’t worry. It will not happen again.
We deeply appreciate your enjoyment of The Endless Forest. And thanks to the donations of several among you, we hope to support the game for many more years.
As many of you know, we create other videogames next to The Endless Forest as well. As artists we continuously explore this exciting new medium. Our latest effort has just been released. It is called Bientôt l’été (French for “It is nearly Summer”).
Bientôt l’été is the first multiplayer game we have made since The Endless Forest. As in the latter, you don’t know the identity of the other players. And you only play with one at a time, in one part of the game. In the other, you walk along a windy beach, while romantic thoughts appear on the screen.
You can find out more about Bientôt l’été here:
http://conte-des-contes.com/bientotleteIf you like what you see, please consider purchasing Bientôt l’été. This will help us in our artistic quest and will support the company that runs The Endless Forest. Bientôt l’été is available for Mac and PC. The regular version costs $10. An extravagant version of $40 is also available for those who can afford to support us some more.
Like The Endless Forest, Bientôt l’été is a very unusual game. As a result, it is difficult to spread the word about it. So we need all the help we can get. If you have friends who may be interested in this sort of digital art, please tell them about Bientôt l’été and point them to the website http://conte-des-contes.com/bientotlete. If you’re on Twitter, you can also mention our Twitter handle @taleoftales. And on Facebook, we are simply Tale of Tales.
Bientôt l’été was inspired by French novelist and filmmaker Marguerite Duras. It’s about love and loss, deception and desire, coyness and cruelty. You play a man or a woman, you walk along the beach, pensive. And then you go inside, to meet another player for a strange game of chess.
The music was composed by Walter Hus and the animations were made by Laura Raines Smith, who has animated all of our characters so far, including the deer in The Endless Forest. The text is spoken in French and subtitled in many languages which you can choose from. Currently: English, Dutch, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Swedish, Polish and Russian. And we hope to add more.
Warm wishes for the new year!
And thank you for your support.Michael & Auriea.
